A kind of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) in which the blood and bone marrow contain an excess of immature white blood cells (prolymphocytes).
Adult T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is a rare disease with poor survival rates when compared to pediatric patients. Adult patients with recurrent disease have poor prognosis, with only 10% of patients surviving long term, despite the fact that the condition is theoretically treatable with a 50% survival rate in 5-year.
The aberrant lymphocytes in PLL are big, immature cells known as prolymphocytes. The blood does not ordinarily contain these prolymphocytes.
PLL (prolymphocytic leukemia) is a rare (less than 1% of chronic leukemias) and aggressive kind of leukemia characterized by excessive lymphocyte proliferation. The spongy tissue found inside bones, called bone marrow, is where blood cells are created.
In 1973, T-PLL, a rare hematological malignancy, was first identified. It accounts for about 2% of adult lymphocytic leukemias (1, 6, 7). T-PLL primarily affects older persons, with a little male predominance, with an average age at presentation of 65 years .
